Read MoreI came across this old Hawaiian proverb recently: ua ola no i ka pane e ka aloha (pronounced: oo-ah oh-lah no ee kah pah-neh a keh aloha) which means “There is life in a kindly reply.” As we are now deep into the holiday season, this phrase feels so poignant.
Thanksgiving is this week….but somehow I keep thinking “Wasn’t it just Halloween last week?” But somehow the manawa (pronounced: mah-nah-wah), or time, between Halloween and Thanksgiving somehow continued to move without me really realizing it.
Mahalo to all who have given us ‘oihana koa (pronounced: oy-ha-na koh-ah), or military service. We are indebted to you all.
Last week’s news of the passing of one of the actors from the show hit me hard. I have been feeling very kaumaha (pronounced: cow-mah-hah) or sad…but I’m not really sure I understand why.
