Hawaiian Word of the Week: Mahalo nui loa

This week’s word of the week has an important message from founder Lori Shen who I am very thankful to have started this journey with. Mahlao nui loa [pronounced mah-hah-loh noo-ee loh-wah] Lori!

Aloha friends,

After some serious soul searching, I’ve made the decision to leave She Lives Aloha to spend more time with family. As many of you know, Vanessa and I met years ago working crazy hours in the corporate world. We believed that there had to be a way to incorporate the spirit of aloha into our daily lives - and keep it going all year long - which sparked the idea for She Lives Aloha. We launched the company with the goal of inspiring everyone to be our best selves even when we’re not on vacation, while supporting artists and small businesses.

I could never have anticipated how She Lives Aloha would resonate with so many people over the years. A member of our Ohana shared, “I was “googling" inspirational Hawaiian phrases and got immediately hooked to your site. Hawaii is a magical place and we are honored to be heading back there soon. Mahalo for your inspiration and good vibes.”

I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to be on this journey with you all and will continue to be its biggest cheerleader. Vanessa has big plans for the new year (and beyond - stay tuned!) and I could not be more excited. A big mahalo to Vanessa for her continued leadership and to all of you for your ongoing support!

A hui hou,

Lori
