Pineapples not Pumpkins

I gave up long ago on being ‘Pinteresting’--able to create food or crafts that are Pinterest worthy. That said, when it came to carving pineapples versus pumpkins, I was quite pleased with myself. I could do it. What I haven’t been able to do yet is to convince my kids that we should only buy pineapples and not pumpkins for Halloween.

Here are my five reasons for carving pineapples versus pumpkins:

  1. Pineapple tastes better than pumpkin.

  2. You can make cocktails from the pineapple juice.

  3. You can carve a pineapple in under 10 minutes.

  4. It doesn’t feel as slimy and gross.

  5. Pineapples remind me of Hawaii.

If you are going to carve pineapples this year, you should read this article on how to pick a good pineapple. We carved three during the process and each had a different flavor.

Do not carve pineapples without this tool, VacuVin Pineapple Slicer. You can watch the video here, but it makes eating pineapples so easy.

For step by step instructions, the video below will take you through the quick and easy way to add aloha to your Halloween.

If you carve a pineapple this season, show us a picture and don’t forget to tag it with #livesaloha.
