Hawaiian Word of the Week: Le'ale'a
I always think about how kids can seem to have fun wherever they are…making new friends and finding ways to stay amused. For me, I ache for that type of feeling at home on the mainland, but when I am in Hawaii, I somehow find the le’ale’a (pronounced: leh-ahleh-ah) the minute I step foot on the islands.
During my vacations (which I am currently on the Big Island!) I love being able to do it all. I find le’ale’a just sitting at the beach reading a book, playing with the kids in the pool, and even when we decide we are going zip lining or walk through the botanical gardens. Even when I am out there shopping and looking for great items for our She Lives Aloha subscription box, I find such le’ale’a.
