Hawaiian Word of the Week: Pehea ʻoe?
It’s a nerve-wracking time for those of us in California. Personally, I’m in an area between big fires, so I keep checking my phone for fire evacuation alerts. So far, I’m okay. But the perimeter keeps widening and the air smokier. Visibility got so low yesterday that I couldn’t see down the street.
Mahalo to all of you who’ve reached out to offer shelter, help or simply check in. It means the world.
Which brings us to this week’s phrase: pehea `oe or “how are you?” Check in with a neighbor or loved one today.
